Yours

Your beauty doesn’t fit into the lines of my vision.

It awakens every cell in my body. A presence that makes me sit up, a divinity that leaves me yearning for more.

My spirit sees you clearly as my eyes fail. I can see the kindness behind your eyes, the warmth of your smile, the invitation of your open arms.

You caress me.

To the untrained eye, it may appear that I am alone.

But as I walk in the constant embrace of the friend who sticks closer than a brother,

My best friend,

My eternal spouse,

The great “I am,”

Who humbled himself even to love a wretch like me,

And formed His love into something that could pierce the most impenetrable walls of my heart,

What else could I do but melt?

Who else can I be but yours?

What other identity suits me now? Love is wrapping itself around me, coiling into the ugliest parts of my soul, unafraid of hard, undeterred by difficult.

Who else can I be but yours?
